Introduction

For successful alignment with InfiPOCKET, a network connection between the smartphone and the wireless device should be established. In order to do this, select one of the connection methods and make the appropriate network settings.

Connection methods

Method № 1

Using a wireless access point and power bank.

The smartphone is connected to the access point via Wi-Fi. The power bank acts as a power source for both the wireless access point and the Infinet Wireless device.

Network connection scheme - with access point.

Requirements:

  • External power supply - not required.
  • Wi-Fi access point - required:
    • power supply via PoE-In port.
  • Power bank - required:
    • PoE-Out port - 2 pcs.
  • Adapter USB ↔ RJ45 - not required.
  • UTP cable - 2 pcs.

Method № 2

Using a wireless access point with built-in battery and PoE-Out support.

The smartphone is connected to the access point via Wi-Fi. The access point has a built-in battery that powers both the access point itself and the Infinet Wireless device.

Requirements:

  • External power supply - not required.
  • Wi-Fi access point - required:
    • built-in power bank;
    • PoE-Out port.
  • Power bank - not required.
  • Adapter USB ↔ RJ45 - not required.
  • UTP cable - 1 pc.

Method № 3

Using a wireless access point with a built-in battery and an external power supply.

The smartphone is connected to the access point via Wi-Fi. The access point is connected to a wireless device via a proprietary power injector. The access point has a built-in battery that powers the access point only. The Infinet Wireless device is powered by a proprietary power injector connected to a power source.

Requirements:

  • External power supply - required.
  • Wi-Fi access point - required:
    • built-in buttery;
  • Power bank - not required.
  • Adapter USB ↔ RJ45 - not required.
  • UTP cable - 2 pcs.

Method № 4

Using USB ↔ RJ45 wired adapter and external power supply.

The smartphone is connected directly to the proprietary power injector via a USB ↔ RJ45 adapter. The Infinet Wireless device is powered by a proprietary power injector connected to a power source.

Network connection scheme - without access point.

Requirements:

  • External power supply - required.
  • Wi-Fi access point - not required.
  • Power bank - not required.
  • Adapter USB ↔ RJ45 - required.
  • UTP cable - 2 pcs.

Network settings

Network settings are required to provide IP network connectivity between the smartphone and the wireless device. You can perform the setup in accordance with the hardware used and your preferences.

Examples of basic networking schemes are described below.

Network connection scheme with access point

Explanations:

  1. The smartphone does not require any additional settings, it will connect to the access point via Wi-Fi, receiving network settings from DHCP service.
  2. The Infinet Wireless device must be configured in a following way:
    1. The wired network interface must have an IP address "IPADDR2".
    2. Before starting the alignment, a default route must be set in the routing table through the IP address "IPADDR1" of the access point. After alignment this setting must be removed.
  3. The access point must be configured in a following way:
    1. Activate a DHCP server to provide network settings to devices connecting via Wi-Fi.
    2. The network interface to which the wireless device is connected must have an "IPADDR1" IP address from the same subnet as the "IPADDR2" IP address set on the device.

Explanations:

  1. The smartphone does not require any additional settings, it will connect to the access point via Wi-Fi, receiving network settings from DHCP service.
  2. The Infinet Wireless device must be configured in a following way:
    1. Activate a DHCP server to provide network settings to devices connecting via wired network interface (see dhcpd command (DHCP Server). After alignment this setting must be removed.
