Some devices modes and options can significantly affect the link stability and throughput.
Polling
In case the MINT software version is installed on the devices, make sure that the "Polling" mode is enabled. This mode improves the radio medium usage efficiency and avoids collisions. In addition, to improve the wireless system efficiency, we recommend updating to software with TDMA technology support. A detailed description and benefits of software versions can be found in the "TDMA and Polling: Application features" article.
Greenfield
"Greenfield" mode allows to reduce the frame preamble during transmitting over a wireless connection, this increases a link performance by 10-15%.
Autobitrate and ATPC
To keep a balance between a wireless link performance and a retries number, we recommend always set "Bitrate" parameter to "Auto" mode. Also set up automatic transmit power control (ATPC) to increase the devices operational life.
Frame size
If the device has a software version with TDMA technology support, make sure the frame size ensure the best performance from your wireless system. A short frame allows to transmit less payload than a long one, however it also ensures smaller delay. A detailed description of frames sizes in TDMA technology is available in the "TDMA and Polling: Application features" article.
Packets retries management
The "Turbo" and "SCS" modes are available in the TDMA software version, which allow to increase the wireless link throughput in case the degradation is caused by a large number of errors in the radio.
Detailed information about radio parameters configuration via the web interface is available in the "Link Settings" article and in the "InfiLINK 2x2 / InfiMAN 2x2: Initial Link Configuration and Installation", via CLI in articles: "mint command (TDMA version)"/"mint command (MINT version)" и "rfconfig command (TDMA version)"/"rfconfig command (MINT version)".
